What are your thoughts on dating in the office? I have the biggest crush on my regional manager at work. We get along so well and both have these corky personalities. He has suggested on several occasions about meeting up for a drink on a Friday evening but I haven’t gone. I do have this No dating in the office rule. It just creates a big thing, that you have to fill out a report with who you are dating in the office and how it won’t affect your work, so on and so forth. I can not deny the connection we have though. Should I stick to guns or give love a chance? Office wise.

Dear Lydia,

I also have a no dating in the office rule, why because in my opinion it always becomes a disaster.
It doesn’t matter whether it is true or not, if you begin to date your regional manager someone is going to be jealous, envious or upset. That will also place the two of you in the spot light because co-workers will assume you will be getting special treatment, whether or not you get it.
At the company I work for it is a HUGE no, because of all the problems it has presented in the past. In the 17 years I have been there 3 times it has been very explosive.
So, I am sorry to say my answer is, stick to your guns. If it is meant to be and continues to get stronger someone will have to make the decision to either transfer departments or leave all together in order to give love a chance.

Good Luck & Huge Muther Hugs,

One Tough Muther
