My twin girls are three and very attached to eachother. I drop them off at day care and most of the day they say my girls are holding hands. At home and out ,if one has to use the potty the other tags along, they share a bed( they each have their own but refuse to sleep separate) they are very attached to eachother. Should I be worried. I literally can’t seperate them.
I can’t think of any reason why you should be worried, they are only 3 years old. They have literally been together since their conception and they find security and confidence being together. If they were attached to a blanket or stuffed animal like other children, would you be worried?
Lyra, strangely enough my family is full of twins, in fact more than you can imagine. It so happens that my daughter-in-law is an identical twin and she and her sister stayed together until they graduated college. They had their own language as children and still are extremely close. Out of college they both married and now have successful careers and families of their own. They are the same in many ways however they also have their own very different identities.
Don’t worry and don’t separate them. As time goes on they will develop their own likes and dislikes, their own personalities and their own way. If later in life you see an issue then speak to your doctor or a school professional, however I doubt it will ever become an issue so please don’t worry.
