Otm I LOVE my job. I just started working again but I love this new job, people I work with, the company ,EVERYTHING. I’m not making much money though and that’s my only concern. This is a FRESH company, it just opened in January 2015. My husband always is saying that I can’t work there forever making the money I make. He always talks about it like its not long term. See I love my job and no I don’t make much but it doesn’t really bother me. It’s not an necessity that I need to make more right now. I see it as anything could happen. Maybe the longer I’m there the more money I’ll make or my position might change or my importance to the company may give me more opportunity . I mean I don’t know but I’m not giving up. I have the right attitude right?

Dear Kellie,

You have the perfect attitude! To love your job and the people you work with is monumental, period. As well as the fact that this is a new company leads me to believe there may be a lot of growth potential, which is awesome. And to your point, the longer you are there, the harder you work and the more you try to learn new jobs, the better your chance to advance. So learn, learn learn, by helping or lending a hand to other departments if possible, by picking up the slack if there is any and not being afraid to try new things. Also talk and be kind to everyone, a lot of times it is very true that it isn’t always what you know but who, when you are hoping to advance or looking for another position.
Oh and by the way, I’m sorry to say this but your husband has no right to speculate or discourage you, he should be encouraging and supportive. Don’t let his uncalled for comments deter you, rattle you or upset you. Stay on the path you are on and build your worth with the company, I’m am sure you’ll be happy you did and it will pay off.

Good Luck & Huge Muther Hugs,

One Tough Muther
